About Our Business - A Moment of Tea

The Beginning 

A Moment of Tea came into existence during the uncertain times of the 2020 pandemic. When the world was grappling with isolation and uncertainty, we felt the urge to create a space of warmth and community, and the idea of using tea as a medium seemed perfect.

So, we began with weekly tea gatherings, inviting people from various walks of life to come together, share their stories, and find solace in the warmth of a cup of tea. The response we received was heartening. It was clear that our little tea gatherings were offering people comfort and a sense of community, and this inspired us to turn this initiative into something more substantial.

In September 2020, we officially registered as "A Moment of Tea". What began as weekly tea gatherings slowly transformed into markets and workshops, allowing us to reach a larger audience and share our love for tea with more people.

Transitioning from Tea Enthusiast to Business Owner

Our big break came in early 2022 when we were selected as resident artists at Salamanca Art Centre in Hobart, a bustling hub for local artisans in Tasmania. Being a part of such a vibrant community of artists not only amplified our visibility but also enriched our understanding of the local culture and craft.

In November 2022, another opportunity came our way. We were selected to be a part of the Salamanca Market, a popular marketplace known for its lively atmosphere and diverse offerings. Participating in this market provided us with a deeper understanding of our customers and their needs, allowing us to cater to them better.

Despite the lack of any major promotional activities, the majority of our clientele are individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds around the globe, reflecting the universal appeal of tea.
