Our Founder's Journey - Tea with Joanne

A Life-Changing Encounter with Tea

Hello, I'm Joanne, the founder of A Moment of Tea. I invite you to join me on my tea journey, a journey sparked by a random afternoon spent in a teahouse back in Beijing in 2014. That day, I tasted various green teas and was amazed by a lingering sweetness that stayed with me for two whole days. This incredible experience piqued my curiosity and led me to the beautiful world of tea.

Embarking on a Tea Education Journey

Under the guidance of Ms. Xiao, the founder of Lian Yu School and a revered figure in the tea world, I dove into the depths of tea - its rich history, complex grading system, delicate crafting techniques, and its influential role in culture and modern art. As a part of my studies, I got a chance to receive systematic training and practice of standard tea varieties from different regions.

My move to Australia in 2017 marked a new chapter in my tea journey. Here, I brought my passion for tea and started sharing it with locals. I was amazed by their curiosity and willingness to learn about tea, and this interaction broadened my perspective and made me appreciate tea's universal appeal.

A Moment of Tea - Sharing the Gift of Tea

In 2020, as the world grappled with the pandemic, I felt a calling to use tea as a source of comfort for people. I began by organizing weekly tea gatherings that became a safe haven for many. These sessions were more than just about drinking tea; they were a journey into the depths of self-awareness, mindfulness, and introspection.

As I sat before my tea table each day, brewing a cup of tea, I found a moment of calm amidst the chaos. The simple act of brewing and sipping tea became a daily meditation, grounding me in the present and bringing a sense of peace and tranquility.

It was during one such moment of calm and clarity that the name "A Moment of Tea" sprang into my mind. I knew then that I had found my purpose - to bring the same calm and joy I found in tea to others.

Today, as I continue my journey, I am excited to share my passion with you and help you embark on your own tea journey. After all, tea is not just a beverage; it's a path to self-discovery, mindfulness, and connection with the world around us. Join me, and let's explore the beautiful world of tea together.
